Big D & The Kids Table

Big D & The Kids Table - O2 Academy, Newcastle - Sun 24th January '10

This is my second blog from the Reel Big Fish show last Sunday. The second support band Big D & The kids table who I decided also need their own blog. These are one of my favorite bands of all time so it was a blast being able to shoot them again ( I think this is my 2rd time shooting them but I have seen then live a good 5 times.)

If I'm honest though there style has changed a lot in the last album to a more sole style which is completely different to the ska punk that I love these guys for. Don't get me wrong the album is class but I'd prefer to see the faster songs live as that's the Big D that I adored nearly 7 years ago when I first heard them.

Shootingwize this set was pretty straight forward with generous front white lights and lots of nice colours. Front man David really working the stage with mic in-hand for first two songs and picking up his guitar for the final song of the 3 song shooting time. Compared to shooting these guys last time crammed on to the tiny stage in the Academy 2 this was a lot easier gaining a lot better results.
