Jamie T

Northumbria SU, Newcastle – Thursday 28th January 2010

This show was scheduled nearly four months earlier but due to Jamie being ill he had to move the hole of his tour. Since first catching Jamie T live in the summer last year (Click HERE to view photographs from that show) I have become a massive fan with the release of his second album ‘Kings & Queens’ being one of my most played albums of 2009. So I was super excited about attending this show and I was not disappointed.

Support act ‘Chester P’ who I missed most of due to arriving later then planned was pretty average with his freestyling political hip-hop. Really was not fused I missed the majority of his set. Norhtumbria’s SU was full to bursting tonight for this show, it was set to be a great night – it could have been better if the price of a pint of Fosters was not £3.95 which is an absolute joke – but I guess I was there for the music and not the beer.

Jamie T came on stage at around 9PM, he played and absolute blinder of a set and was clearly well again and happy to be on the road and playing shows. Shootingwize it was a pretty straight forward show. The lighting was varied throughout the set but still very impressive. Probably the best I have seen yet at Northumbria’s SU. I was able to shoot a lot of the show at 1/160 to 1/200 with ISO anywhere from 800-1600. So it was pretty nice bright lighting which made for an interesting set of images. Jamie spent the majority of the set changing between an electric or acoustic guitar or he would be running around the stage with the mic in his hand. He is a really great showman. When he had guitar in hand and if he was not singing he would be at the front of stage working the crowd.

I have uploaded about 20 or so images from the set below, I was shooting for Change The Record. The full set can be seen HERE and you can read my review HERE.
