The Proclaimers

The Proclaimers – City Hall, Newcastle – Sunday 1st November 2009

After a long day at work I was chilling out on the sofa, I knew I had a show to go to but I really didn’t have the get up and go. After a lot of effort and a Xfactor coming on TV I decided I should really go to this show. So I did, I arrived to a venue full of people that could all be old enough to be my parents – this was my first time shooting at the city hall. I got a talk from the head of security who was really nice and he walked me round and introduced me to the other security guys. I arrived just 20 minutes before they proclaimers came on stage which was pretty good timing!

It was a strange show to shoot as everyone was sitting down so I was shooting from the isles, the security said I would be fine as long as I don’t stand in front of anyone for to long. I was shooting the hole show with my 55-200mm lens, the lighting was pretty reasonable to shoot in. I quickly had the shots I needed after the first song, the second song was just mainly red back lighting but the third song was a little easier to shoot in. So didn’t really get that much time to shoot but got the pictures quite easily as the bands member weren’t exactly running around the stage!
