The White Lies

O2 Academy, Newcastle – Sunday 29th November 2009

For some reason I have had a crazy few days, on Sunday night though I managed to squeeze in shooting The White Lies. I had heard good things about their lighting set up these guys toured with so I was really looking forward to shooting them. As I hoped I was really not disappointed. A sold out academy on a rainy sunday evening were in for a great show.

The first song was very smokey making shooting hard but once that cleared slightly the light show was truly stunning. I only have one shot I like of the bassist but the other 21 images I have posted in this blog are of the singer/guitarist. He was pretty active on stage making for a great subject to shoot. Was able to shoot around 1000 ISO for most of the show and lighting was good enough for me to concentrate on the subjects I was photographing rather then my camera settings. After the 3 songs in the pit I couldn’t  resist going up on the balcony to get a shot of the full venue. Got a cracker that im pretty happy with and really shows the lighting at its best!
